According to prominent leaker, Jon Prosser, the Google Pixel Fold is finally going to be announced at Google I/O on May 10th. We’ve been expecting the Pixel Fold for quite a while now and there was already heavy speculation that the Foldwould finally make a debut at Google I/O, but the bigger surprise is the seemingly reliable leak that the price will be $1799, which is really steep. While the price shock isn’t out of the ordinary in the foldable world, with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 MSRP of $1799, and previously the Fold 2 was $1999. I think the bigger sticker shock is because it’s Google, and their other phones have been so reasonably priced for the past to years, e.g., Pixel 7 $599 and Pixel 7 Pro $899, and they have been heavily discounted for a while. The Pixel Fold is supposedly going to be available for purchase on June 27th. So… for now we play the wait and see approach. I’m excited to see if the Fold does indeed make an appearance and I’ll be even more excited if I can finally get my hands on one! For now, we’ll have to keep our eyes on the horizon until May 10th and see what happens at Google I/O! What are your thoughts on the possible reality of the Fold showing up, and furthermore, what do you think about the reported $1799 price tag?
